Lyd & Liv: Day Glam Makeup Look

Hello everyone, I hope you're well.
I am so excited for this blogpost and it has definitely been my favourite to plan and write as it's my first ever collab with the lovely Olivia Marshall from livvyandallthingsbeauty. Me and Olivia went to school together and have always shared a love for makeup and blogging so it was amazing for us to get together and work on a blogpost. She is such a talented aspiring makeup artist and she is probably the only person who could make me feel comfortable about having makeup applied to my face. We decided to do a makeup look on 'glam' and I did a daytime glam look on her whilst she did a nighttime glam on me so make sure to check her blogpost out after this and stay tuned for some more post from the both of us because we just loved spending the day together doing the things we loved.

Face:
As we decided to go for a glam look I made the base slightly more full coverage as I felt it would match the theme better and allow the eye makeup to pop. I knew I wanted to go heavier on the eyes and that was the area I focused the glam on so the rest of the face I kept neutral with a soft contour, a slight blush to the cheeks and a pop of highlighter on the cheek bones where the sun would naturally hit. I stuck with a light blush that gave a natural flush and for the highlighter I used a colour similar to Olivas's skin tone to make sure it blended in and gave the most natural look whilst still looking glam and glowy.
The products I used were:
Foundation: Arbonne perfecting liquid foundation
Concealer: Arbonne real conceal liquid concealer
Powder: Arbonne setting pretty translucent powder
Bronzer: Arbonne bronzer
Contour: Anastasia beverly hills cream contour palette
Blusher: Arbonne blush in Blossom
Highlight: Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit in sun kissed

Eyes:
The eyes were the main focus for this look and I was very happy with how they turned out. I used a paint pot as a base to ensure the eyeshadows appeared bright and true to the colours in the pan. I used a light transition shade in the crease and then blended a pink into the crease and the outer corner. I used a slightly darker pink on the outer corner and blended all the shades together to make the look softer and less harsh. I then applied a glitter liquid eyeshadow in the front third of the lid and again blended it out with the pink. I thought a small wing would be suitable for this look to add to the glam and then I paired that with some natural lashes to give a bit of extra volume and length.
The products I used were:
Base: MAC paint pot in soft ochre
Transition crease colour: ABH modern renaissance palette in shade Buon Fresco
Crease and outer corner: Violet Voss holy grail palette, shade Wine N Dine
Outer corner: ABH modern renaissance palette, shade love letter
Lid: Violet Voss holy grail palette, shade 'On fleek'
Glitter: Stila magnificent metals liquid eyeshadown in shade 'Kitten Karma'
Eyeliner: Kat von D tattoo liner
Mascara: Arbonne it's a long story Mascara

Lips:
I kept the lips very subtle as the key focus was on the eyes in this look so I went for a nude lipstick and then a slightly lighter shade in the middle of the lip to give the illusion of a plumper lip and a subtle ombre affect.
The products I used were:
Lipliner: MAC pro longwear lip pencil in 'nice n spicy'
Lipsticks: ABH liquid lipstick in crush and Kat Von D everlasting lipstick in melancholia

Im am definitely no makeup artist and this was such a fun post to both plan and write, I have never done a collaboration on my blog and Im so glad my first was with the gorgeous Olivia. This is the daytime version as I mentioned before and if you head on over to her blog you'll get to see her nighttime glam makeup look that she did on me, it was absolutely amazing and I'm so excited to do more collabs with her so look out for more #lydandliv coming soon.

First Impressions-Cult beauty haul

Hello everyone, I hope you're well.
A few weeks ago my mum asked me if I would do her makeup for her on her wedding day and obviously I was so excited and agreed. Now my mum is not one for large amounts of makeup and her collection is fairly small so we both decided we were in desperate need of some new products and what better time to do some makeup shopping than just before the wedding, not that I need any kind of excuse to spend money on makeup. I had never used Cult beauty before to buy makeup products because I usually like going into the shop and trying out the products first before purchasing but some of the products I wanted I couldn't get In a physical store so a website was the next best option.

I tried keeping the intro short and sweet but me being me I couldn't so lastly I just want to say my products came so quickly and were wrapped and arrived in excellent condition so I really couldn't fault Cult beauty at all and would recommend using their site to anyone especially as it was so convenient as they sell a large number of brands. As soon as it arrived of course I wanted to dive straight in and try out the products because lets be honest what girl doesn't LOVE new makeup! I wrote down exactly what I thought about the products on my first try so I thought why not write a blogpost on my first impressions so here it is.

Beauty blender
After a lot of thought and adding then removing this product from my basket I finally gave in and just purchased it. I have always been a brush kind of girl ever since I started wearing makeup and the thought of using a sponge to apply my makeup just didn't feel right but a couple of weeks ago I met a girl who had the most flawless makeup on and I asked her how she got it like that and she simply just said 'you need a beauty blender'. After that day the decision was made, I needed to see what this 'magical' sponge could do to my makeup and why it was so hyped up. When I first used it I dampened it just like I had seen every beauty blogger/influencer do and begun to tap my foundation into my skin. This way of applying was very strange to me and it took me a lot longer to apply my foundation than usual but I could already see how smooth and flawless my skin was beginning to look with this product. It spread the product very evenly across my face and actually felt very therapeutic.

Violet Voss holy grail palette
Unless you have been living under a rock then you've probably heard every blogger/YouTuber using and raving about this product and that is exactly what made me purchase it. This palette retails for £43 which is quite pricey but when it arrived I instantly fell in love and it was so worth the extra splurge. The palette was much bigger than what I expected so you get a lot of product for the price, I also love that you get a huge mirror with it making it great to travel with. Now onto the actual eyeshadows, for the past few years I have been using MAC eyeshadows but in the last few months I treated myself to the Anastasia Beverley Hills modern renaissance palette. Since then I have fallen in love with that brand and now I barely reach for my MAC ones so this palette had a lot of living up to do. After watching a number of tutorials I decided to try them out, the eyeshadows are super pigmented and so smooth to apply, even the shimmer ones. They are very easy to blend and I found the colours all merged perfectly together which was perfect for someone who isn't as experienced as the 'beauty gurus' around. All the colours are true to what you seen in the pans and the staying power was great, I applied them without using a primer the first time and I honestly didn't see a difference compared to when I did use a primer.

Stila Magnificent metals glitter and glow liquid eye shadow in Kitten Karma
This product was the one I was the most excited about after seeing so many people using it. I am a glitter lover and I definitely use any excuse to have a glittery eye so this product was a necessity for my collection. Most glitter's are usually hard to apply and require glue or some kind of wax to give the proper pay off, this product on the other hand required no glue and what you see in the bottle is exactly what appears on your eyelids. The product is not at all sticky and doesn't feel heavy on the eyes like some do so straight away I was amazed. It is a beautiful champagne colour and so far has gone with every eyeshadow colour I have used with it, I like to put it all over the lid and have a eyeshadow in the crease or I apply it just to the inner part of my lid and blend it out to give a slight gradient effect. The consistency is of course a liquid but it's not to runny however you do have to be careful when applying it because it take a few seconds to dry and if not dried properly it can transfer onto the top of the eyelid which isn't quite as pretty. The staying power of this product is incredible, both times I've worn it I have had it on all day and even at the end of the day it looks perfectly applied so this glitter has definitely changed the makeup game and I can see myself using this most days!

October Favourites

Hello Everyone, I hope you are well!
I always seem to be starting these blogpost with an apology for not posting in so long but yet again I'm in that situation haha. It's been a while and i've been doing a lot these past few months but i just noticed i have hit 5000 views on my blog which is amazing. I remember writing about reaching 2000 views this time last year and i never thought i would reach 5000 so thank you so much for reading my blog i really appreciate it. Now i've got all that out the way i can actually start the October favourites, so this month i haven't really changed my routine up much but i do have a couple of products and bit&bobs i want to share with you.

Beauty
The first products i have been loving are make up products and these are benefit hoola bronzer, mac velvet teddy and revlon lipgloss in 002 crystal lilac. I have used benefits hoola bronzer for so long but just recently i went away for the weekend and i forgot to bring eyeshadow so i tried using the bronzer as one. It turned out so well and its been my go to look ever since, i simply just blend it into my crease and my lower lash line and it makes my eyes pop. Velvet teddy and the revlon lipgloss has been a lip combination i have been loving, i apply a lipliner then velvet teddy all over my lips then the lipgloss just on the middle of my top and lower lip. This makes my lips appear more plump and is a simple colour for everyday wear

The skincare I've been loving is the Nivea care and coconut body wash, i absolutely love the smell of coconut as the body was is so fresh and makes my skin feel so smooth after using it. I've also been loving another Nivea product and that is the Nivea fresh natural deodorant, this is perfect for me because sometimes my skin can react to heavily perfumed products but this one smells very fresh and feels soothing on the skin rather than irritating it. It lasts all day and i definitely recommend using a deodorant rather than a anti-perspirant. The final skincare product is the Garnier pure active face wash, I've had some pretty bad breakouts the last few weeks and this face wash has helped control them. It has small bits in to act as a scrub and i like to use it once a week as a face mask to really unclog my pores after a week of wearing makeup.

Music/TV
This month i haven't watched a tonne of TV but i have been loving idiot abroad on Netflix, its about a guy who goes around the world and checks out all the wonders of the world and attractions, its so funny and i have managed to watch every episode in about 2 weeks. For music i've been listening to a lot of Beyonce again because lets be honest she is incredibly talented. I also have been enjoying starboy by the weeknd and most chainsmokers songs. One of my favourite songs this month though has to be James Arthurs say you won't let go, Its such a beautiful song and i love singing along to it whilst get ready in the morning.

Youtubers/Bloggers
I haven't been reading many new blogs this month because i have been so busy and not had the time to sit down and have a look but one thing i have been loving is couple/family vlogging channels. I don't know whether its just because I'm nosey but i love the concept of people sharing their daily lives. The few i have been watching are Sierra&Alex, Jess&Gabriel and RomanAtwoodVlogs.

Sierra and alex: https://www.youtube.com/user/SierraMarieVlogs
Jess and gabriel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCopNpXKBx_M48AiJjn20dhg
RomanAtwoodVlogs: https://www.youtube.com/user/RomanAtwoodVlogs/featured

So thats everything I've been loving this month, thanks you again for 5000 views on the blog. I hope you all have a wonderful November and i can't believe how fast christmas has come around so expect some christmas related blogposts very soon!

Thank you so much for reading

Super simple makeup look

Hello everyone, I hope you are well!
I haven't done a blogpost in so long because the past few months have been crazy with AS exams and I'm moving house which is extremely exciting. Today i wanted to share a very simple makeup look with you that i wore out today as i needed to pop to the mall to grab some bits and have some lunch so i wanted something that was quick and easy but still pretty. Im not an expert in makeup at all but this was such an easy look that took me about 15 minutes to do so i really wanted to share it with you all. Most of the products i used were drugstore apart from a few of my staple items but there are definitely some cheaper alternatives for these products.

Skin Prep: Before i put on any makeup i washed and moisturised my face then sprayed it with macs fix+, this product does wonders for me because living in Dubai where it is extremely hot my makeup would usually slide straight off but this product stops that as well as acting like a primer.

Skin: I used the Maybelline infallible foundation as I'm very pale at the moment and this is the only foundation that seems to have the lightest shade that matches. I then used the Maybelline age rewind concealer under my eyes and collections lasting perfection concealer on any blemishes. For bronzer i used Benefits Hoola and i lightly brushed that on my temples, cheeks and jawline to give my skin a slight tan. As i was keeping this look simple i didn't use any blush or highlight but i think mac soft and gentle would look great with this look. I finished off the skin with my Rimmel stay matte powder which i lightly dusted on my t-zone and oily areas.

Eyes: For the eyes i used the maybelline colour tattoo in on and on bronze which i placed all over the eyelid then blended out into the crease to get rid of any harsh lines. I then added the Maybelline colour tattoo in eternal gold in the inner corner to brighten my eyes and to add a bit more sparkle to the look. For eyeliner i used macs prunella in my upper and lower lash line and then Loreal's super liner on my lash line and to create a small wing. I then applied a few coats of Benefit Roller lash mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

Eyebrows and lips: For my eyebrows i used soap and glory archery to give them a tiny bit more definition then i set them with Loreal brow gel. As i wanted to keep this look simple i used a Carmex lip balm which gave my lips a slight red tint but not something that was too bright.

February Favourites

Hello everyone, hope you are well!
I can't believe its the end of February already. Today i decided to share my favourites of this month with you because i wouldn't be a blogger if i never! I've been super busy with school this month so i haven't tried many new things out but i do have a few beauty and skincare products i've been loving along with some music and tv favourites.

Beauty
My first two products are makeup items and the two i have been using everyday are Benefit's roller lash and MAC's fix+. Benefits roller lash has been a favourite of mine since it came out, i love how much it extends my lashes and i've never needed eyelash curlers with this product. It has a plastic brush with small bristles and this really helps get into the corners of your eyes and cover all your eyelashes in mascara. MAC's fix+ is my other makeup favourite and its a fairly new one. i like to wear this before putting on my makeup like a primer to keep my makeup up on throughout the day. This products works really well and i have noticed that my makeup stays on a lot longer now and i haven't suffered any breakout with this like i usually do with primers.

For skincare i have really been liking the Garnier micellar water, i know this product is very popular with a lot of people and i find myself repurchasing this all the time. It's great at taking all your makeup off especially mascara and it doesn't leave my skin feeling irritated like makeup wipes do. I like how its very easy to apply and for days when i'm not feeling up to doing a whole skincare routine it still removes all my makeup and cleanses my skin well.
The last beauty product i have to share is the unique one hair product in coconut. This is a 10 in 1 hair product which works as detangling spray, heat protectant and all round hair treatment. I like to use this product on wet hair to help brush it and it works so well at making my hair soft and shiny as well as protecting it from any heat i may use to style it. I pay £10 for this at my local hair supply store and i wouldn't use any other product anymore because this does every job in one.

Music/tv
I've been loving load of music this month but the ones i have listened to non stop have been Adele and Shawn Mendes. I have loved Adele's music for years now but just recently i have been playing her songs over and over again, my favourite is probably 'When we were young' because i find it quite relaxing and just a good song to sing in the shower. Shawn Mendes is the other artist i have been really enjoying this month, i started to listen to him a while ago but its been in the last few weeks that i have really realised how much i love his music. I love the album handwritten and its definitely my go to get ready album however my favourite song is not on the album and its called 'I know what you did last summer' with Camila Cabello from fifth harmony. This is song is so catchy and such a good song to sing to, its been on repeat since i bought it and it probably will be for the next few months too.

Like most girls pretty little liars has been a favourite this month, as most of you probably know PLL just started again and been so good and yet again i'm hooked. After finishing most of my other series i decided to look for another one and i started watching Grey's Anatomy, i cant believe i never started this sooner because it is probably one of my favourite series i've ever watched although it does make me cry most episodes. I recommend both these shows if you are looking for a new series to watch because they both have many seasons so will take a while to get through.

You tubers/bloggers
The first youtuber i have been watching a lot this month is Sofia Karlberg, she posts covers and i think her voice is incredible! I loved her 'crazy in love' and 'Take me to church' covers and i have listened to them so much. My next youtube favourite is a friend of mine Eve she just started youtube but her videos are already so good, she is so bubbly and friendly and her videos are so nice to watch so please go check her out. Her channel is called Evangelinee and she deserves so many subscribers, i will leave all the links below for you. Finally a blog i have been reading a lot is 'Dizzybrunette3' her blog is absolutely beautiful and i love the pictures she takes.

Nume Curl Jam review

Hello Everyone, I recently bought a hair curling set from Nume and i wanted to do a quick review on it. I have seen so many people use Nume products so i thought they must be good and i wanted to give some products a try, i had a $100 off discount code for the curl jam set so instead of $199 i payed $99 which i thought was a very good deal. In the set you get a curling wand with 3 different sized barrels and some hair straighteners, they come in black pink and blue but when i purchased it they only had pink so that is what i got. When purchasing the products you have to select what power plug you want because if you need a European plug they send you a adapter which goes on the end however if you're from the US you selects you US option so no adapter is required.

I remember it took a few weeks to arrive which wasn't too bad considering what i payed and it is a US product. I first tried the hair straighteners which if I'm honest i didn't like, I didn't think they straightened my hair as well as my corioliss ones so there was no point in me having another set of straighteners, i have fairly thick hair and normally it takes me about 15 minutes to straighten but it took me forever with this product and my hair didn't feel as silky smooth or shiny as my other products so i ended up throwing these away.

The curling wand on the other hand is amazing, i get perfect curls out of them and they last for up to 4 days or until the next wash. They also stay in without any type of hairspray which is prefect for me because i have never used hairspray as i don't like how it leaves my hair feeling. I use the medium sized barrel for everyday beachy curls and the smallest barrel for when i needed the curls to last longer and look a bit tighter. I usually put my hair in a ponytail and curl the pony tail so when i take the elastic band out it leaves natural voluminous curls. If i want a more wavy hairstyle i brush out the curls and they last around 2 days whereas if i leave them they can last up to 4 days depending on how often you wash your hair. My hair starts to get greasy after about 2-3 days so that when i washed it however the curls were still fairly tight and could have lasted another 1-2 days.

Overall i absolutely love this product and for $99 which is around £65 i think it is so worth the money. Although i threw away the straighteners i would still pay that money for the curling wand so i didn't think it was a waste, i don't think i would have bought the set if i didn't have the offer because i didn't need the straighteners so i would have preferred to just buy the curling wand.

MAC haul

Mac Haul

Hello everyone, recently i had two makeovers done by mac for two events and that means of course i bought some products so today I'm doing a mac haul so i can show you what i bought!

I thought i would tell you a bit about the mac makeovers i had incase any of you were thinking about having it done. Both times i paid for a makeup in 60 and they were £30 each but you get to buy £30 worth of makeup at the end so technically the makeover is free, it lasts an hour and you everything from prepping to the actual makeup. I went to the mac in southampton and the ladies who done my makeup were so lovely and made me feel very comfortable, they ask questions about your skin and what products you normally use to ensure the right type of makeup is used and also what they think you will like. They then ask how you want your makeup for the specific occasion whether it be a subtle look or a strong smokey eye with a high coverage foundation, they also ask what sort of things you are wearing so they can get the most out of the colours they use, This really helped them understand exactly what i wanted and i was so impressed with the outcome i would definitely recommend to anyone. Probably one of my favourite things about it was the pro chart you get with a list of all the products and equipment used and a diagram of where the makeup is put on the face, i really liked this because it meant i could recreate the look and if there were any products i liked but couldn't get on the day i could go back and know what i wanted because its all written down.

Anyway on to the haul, the first things i got where lip products, i got 3 lipsticks in honeylove, velvet teddy, cosmo and a pro longwear lip pencil in nice 'n' spicy. As you can see from the pictures they are all very similar nudes but with my skin tone i find it very hard to find a nude that suits me so when i get one that looks nice i end buying a few in similar shades. Honeylove and velvet teddy are matte finishes and cosmo is an amplified. I then bought nice 'n' spicy because i thought it would go nicely with all 3 lipsticks meaning i wouldn't have to buy separate ones.

The next products i bought were for the face. I bought the studio fix foundation in NC15 which is one of my all time favourites so i had to buy myself a new one whilst i was there. I also bought another pro longwear concealer in NW20 which is a slightly darker colour because the one i already had was a bit light so i use it for highlighting under my eyes. The last face product i bought was the mac mineralise skin finish in 'soft and gentle'. The lady who done my makeup the first time used this and i fell in love with it, its the perfect highlight shade for the cheekbones and I've used it every day since.

The last things i got were eyeshadows, i got two single pro pallette refill pans in swiss chocolate and omega and a 9 shadow palette in amber times nine. I got omega for my eyebrows and the swiss chocolate is great for in the crease when doing a brown smokey eye. The amber times nine palette is perfect for travelling as it can create loads of different looks. I will leave all the links to the products below and the prices.

They're all the products i got and i can't wait to try them all out, of course mac isn't the cheapest makeup brand and i did buy these over a few weeks but i did some research to see if they were good so i would definitely recommend doing that before buying anything. If you would like me to do a blogpost on my makeover please leave a comment below and also i would love to know what your favourite mac product is!

August wishlist

August wishlist

Hello everyone i hope you are well and enjoying the sun. I just wanted to say thank you so much for reading my last post, it was my most viewed blogpost and it was so nice to know you liked it. Today i decided to do my first ever wishlist because I'm so original...not haha, i really like reading them so i thought you might too. I have been very good lately and not splurged loads on makeup but i definitely have a few bits that i really want that i will probably end up getting next month!

Clinique chubby stick sculpting contour
This is a fairly new product and i have seen a few people use it like Emily-Victorian canham on youtube which is who made me like it in the first place. I have always wanted a creamy contour stick because i find they look natural and easy to blend. I watched some videos and it was clear to see this blends nicely and leaves a nice colour that is not to dark or orange because I'm very pale.

Tarte buffer airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush
I love makeup brushes so much and i own way over 50 and i really don't need that many but i have heard some amazing things about this brush and to me a good foundation brush can make your makeup look perfect. I like how the brush is quite big which means i will be able to blend my foundation in quickly and the quality of the brush looks better than my others so i feel like it would last a long time so would be worth the money.

MAC's Velvet Teddy
The next product is MAC's velvet teddy, this product has been so popular lately and I'm such a fan of browny nudes that i can't wait to try it out. I recently got my makeup done at mac for a party and i tried two nudes on which were honeylove and velvet teddy, I loved both of them so much so i knew i would eventually get both but i did decide on honeylove for now because velvet teddy was out of stock in my nearest store so I'm going to have to wait a little longer to purchase this one.

Tarte Amazonian butter lipsticks
I would be lying if i said i wasn't only wanting these lipsticks for the packaging because that is what drew me to them in the first place. Not only is the packaging beautiful and would look amazing on my lipstick stand but the colours are super pretty and i want them all. The 3 i really want are plummy rose, angelic nude and tulip. I have read up many reviews and most people say they love them so i can't wait to be able to try them out.

MAC's eye brow pencil in fling
As i said before i recently had my makeup done at mac and the lady who did my makeup used this product on my eyebrows and they looked so natural yet still defined how i liked them. I always have trouble doing my eye brows but with this product she showed me how to and it looked so simple and quick. I had it done in southampton's john lewis and the lady who did it was called levi and she did an incredible job on my makeup so i would definitely recommend going there.

These are things i really want to purchase next month and i will definitely review them when i get them because I'm so excited to try them out and i would love to share them with you, if any of you have tried these products i would love to hear what you thought about them in the comments!

Everyday Makeup:Summer edition

Everyday Makeup:Summer Edition

During this time of the year i find foundation too heavy and i want something more natural so i normally go for a tinted moisturiser just for a little bit of coverage. My favourite is this clinique one because it gives a very even finish but is light on the skin, it also has an SPF 15 so is perfect for the summer weather.
The next product i use is the wake me up concealer, this concealer is low coverage and lightweight which again is what i want during the hotter weather. I like to wear this under my eyes for a little bit of brightening and to cover any small blemishes without looking too cakey.
Powder is so important during the hot weather because you don't want to be shiny in all those pretty summer pictures! My favourite at the moment is the bourjois healthy balance because it lasts all day and gives a nice healthy glow rather than looking very powdery. I also love that is comes with a big mirror so is great to carry around everywhere.
These two products are probably one of my favourites things to wear at the moment because they instantly give me some colour and make me look glowing and healthy. I don't tan very well so a bit of bronzer all over my face gives me a sun kissed look and makes me feel a lot more confident.
Eyebrows! Filling in your brows really helps shape you face and can make a massive difference, I'm loving the soap and glory archery because its very natural so matches my brows perfectly and really finishes of my makeup look.
For my eyes i like to use these two products, i smudge macs prunella on my lower lash line/waterline and by using a plummy coloured eyeliner it makes the green in my eyes really stand out and makes them look brighter. I then use lots of my favourite mascara which is the benefit roller lash to really open my eyes and i can't go anywhere without it on.
Finally my favourite thing about doing my makeup is lips, i love choosing a lip colour everyday and i definitely own too many lip products. My two favourites at them moment are the nyx butter gloss in strawberry parfait and the carmen moisture plus. I love the NYX butter gloss because its very bright and great for summer, it feels so smooth on the lips and not sticky at all. The carmex lip balm is more for when I'm feeling more natural and just want a slight tint to my lips, it keeps my lips feeling soft and looks very pretty.

Beauty Haul

Beauty Haul

Hello Everyone, i hope you are all well and enjoying the sun. Today i have a beauty haul for you but for once there is no makeup involved which is good for me because i normally find it very hard to go into my local drugstore without coming home with a bag full of makeup i really don't need. I'm sure many girls have that problem though!

The first items i got were the Aussie shampoo and conditioner which i had just run out off and i needed to get some more. I love the Aussie range because the smell is incredible, it always reminds me of holiday and summer which is why i use it this time of the year. I always get the 3 minute miracle deep conditioner because i feel it leaves my hair in a better condition and a lot softer. This time i went  for the repair miracle shampoo because during summer my hair can become quite dry so i like to look after it. This range keeps my hair fresh for a 2-3 days and it is definitely one of my favourite brands for haircare.

Buy them here:
Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstructor deep conditioner
Aussie miracle repair shampoo

The next couple of bits i got were from soap and glory, i got the sugar crush body scrub and body buttercream. This is my favourite scent from soap and glory because its smells very fresh and sweet so is perfect for the summertime. I use the scrub a few times a week when i feel like pampering my skin and before i wear any tan which is why i bought it this time because i have very fair skin and i don't tan very well so i like to wear a subtle self tan occasionally throughout summer. I use the buttercream when ever i have a shower to moisturise my skin, this product leaves my skin feeling very smooth and smelling lovely. They aren't that expensive and can be picked from boots or online, i payed £8 for the scrub and £10.50 for the buttercream.

The last product i picked up was the st tropez bronzing mousse, as i said before during summer i like to occasionally wear some self tan but usually i use a gradual tanning moisturiser because i find it more natural but this year i thought i would try out a proper self tan and see what the fuss was about. I did some research and this one seemed very popular and had some good reviews so i decided to try it. Most of the reviews recommended using a mitt to avoid streaks so i picked up the St tropez one aswell and it is very soft so I'm excited to try this out, a review with follow from the product and i will let you know how i feel about it after i've used it a few times.

Diorskin Star foundation review

Diorskin Star Foundation review

Hello everyone, I hope you are ok and are looking forward to the summer. I just finished all my exams and I'm off for two and a half months so i am back to blogging and i have a few exciting post planned. In the UK most year 11's are finishing exams and are looking forward to prom after a very stressful few months, i am one of them and recently i went into my local shopping centre to get a few bits for my prom and for a bit of retail therapy which ended up in me buying myself a new foundation, whoops! This foundation has been very popular recently and i do believe it won the award for best foundation this year so i was very excited to try it out.

The foundation i got was the Diorskin star foundation. It was £32.50 which is the most expensive makeup product i have ever owned and i bought it from John Lewis. When i went i didn't expect to buy it that day because with it being so expensive i wanted to make sure i was certain i wanted it and the shade was perfect. I had a lovely lady who used a small devise to match my skin to a foundation colour and i got the shade 010 ivory which is the palest. I asked her to try it on my skin and this is very important to do before you pay for such an expensive product and i instantly loved it however I already had a bit of makeup on so i couldn't tell straightaway whether it was going to look right on my skin but i decided to take the risk and buy it.

It gives a medium to full coverage depending on how much you build it up but is still very light on the face and i can barely feel it on my skin. It's has a very luxurious feeling and makes my skin feel great and sort of silky feeling after applying.  It is a brightening foundation and i can honestly say it gives my face the perfect glow without making me look shiny, i have fairly oily skin at the moment so I'm always a bit wary of luminating foundations but this was fine. I wore it on my birthday and i got many compliments on my makeup, it was fairly hot on the day and i thought i was going to look shiny in photos because of the foundation being illuminating but the pictures came out great and I've never been so happy with the look of my skin. I absolutely love the packaging and i think its very glamorous and sleek looking, it comes with a pump so is very hygienic and is a fairly good size for travelling.

After a few hours i did notice that the foundation started to come off around my nose and around my chin so i think you would definitely have to powder any oily patches well or it may need a top up throughout the day but apart from that i haven't had any problems with it so far. I do recommend being careful with this product because the glass would be very easy to break and for an expensive product i wouldn't want that happening, so when I'm travelling and i want to take it i put it in my makeup bag with something soft so its not likely to smash and break. Overall this has become one of my favourite foundations and i will definitely repurchase and i look forward to wearing it on my prom day.

March Favorites

March Favourites

After a few stressful weeks of mocks and revision I'm finally back to blogging. I know its a bit late but as you can tell I'm not great at keeping to my schedules so why start now! As you can probably already guess my Favourites of the month is exactly what I'm going to do today just like any other beauty blogger out there. Its the first time I've ever done this and I'm very excited to share my favourite items with you.

Makeup:
I'm going to start off with makeup because I have been loving quite a few bits this month and most of them have been new finds. The first two product I have been loving are both soap and glory. The first one is their archery brow tint and precision shaping pencil. I Only recently started filling in my eyebrows and now I cant go out without doing them. This product is perfect for people who are just getting into eyebrows, it gives a natural look and having the precision end really helps fill in the sparse areas with ease. The second is their sexy mother pucker extreme-plump lip-gloss, I originally bought this product to see what the hype was about and see if this type of product really made your lips look fuller. Personally I don't feel any difference in my lips but I'm loving this colour and that's why I had to include it in my favourites, its a subtle but very pretty pink but is getting me very excited for spring and I have worn this every day since I purchased it.

Both products can be purchased here: click here

Another makeup product I have been loving is the Rimmel wake me up foundation. I recently got a spray tan and of course I was a few shades darker than normal, I wasn't prepared at all and the only foundation shade that suited my new colour was the rimmel wake me up that was sitting at the back of my draw. This foundation made my skin look fantastic, so radiant but not shiny and really blends in with my tan. However i did notice it doesn't last all day and i have to top up throughout the day. This didn't bother me too much because most drugstore foundations are like this and
for the price i wasn't going to complain.

Rimmel Wake me up

Skincare
I have one skincare products to share with you this month which is the No7 beautiful skin night cream i have been using this product for a few months now but this last month i have really seen a difference in my skin. Recently i was having trouble with dry skin which is extremely rare for me considering i normally quite oily so i was looking for a new moisturiser. The No7 night moisturiser was given to me as a present for christmas and said it was for dry skin so i thought i would give it a go . The consistency of the moisturiser is perfect its not to thick but i can definitely feel its hydrating my skin. I use it once a day at nighttime before i go to bed and thats enough to keep my face moisturised all the next day. It soaks into the skin quite quickly and does not make my skin feel slimy at all so i feel comfortable wearing it when i sleep. It is in a glass pot and
not to big but probably wouldn't be good for travelling if you only plan to take a small amount of skincare.

                                                                               Fashion
This month i didn't have any new clothing that really stood our to me which is a big shock however i did use a lot of accessories to spice up my plain outfits and these are the ones i have been loving. The first piece that has been my most used accsesory is my Michael Kors rose gold watch, this watch is perfect for me its very pretty girly with the crystals but also quite sophisticated with the rose quartz detailing. I love wearing this with a simple outfit like black jeans and a plain t-shirt to make my outfit seem more put together but also to keep the attention on the watch. The next few pieces are jewellery and one of them being my pandora bracelet, i love this bracelet because its so personal to me and i love that I've put it together. It includes all the things that are special to me and make me smile when i wear it even though that does make me sound very soppy:). I don't think an outfit it complete until rings are involved they really can make an outfit look so much more dressy and makes it look like you've really put thought into the outfit even though you may have just picked it up from your bedroom floor. I adore these rings i got from new look a few weeks ago and haven't taken them
                                                                               off since.

Mac Eyeliner: Prunella

This weeks Favourite 3

After a busy few months, I'm finally back to blogging and i have really missed it. Back in summer i decided to do small post each week on my favourite product of that week and that is what I'm going to do in this post. This weeks favourite is Mac eyeliner in Prunella.

I went into mac recently and asked one of the lady's which eyeliner she thought would be good for green eyes. She told me purple really made green eyes stand out and that was what i needed to look for. This eyeliner is perfect for that, its a very deep plum with slight purple glitters in but is still very subtle. Its smooth to apply and really helps bring out the green in my eyes without a very bold colour.
I like to apply it to my lower lash line for a more natural look and then smudged on my upper lash line and lashes to create a more smokey put together look. Its extremely pigmented and only a small amount is needed, its very versatile and goes with pretty much any coloured eye shadow. My favourite makeup to go with this a goldy brown eye shadow and a nude lip, it seems to give my eyes a bit more definition.

The one thing that i wasn't to impressed with this was its lasting power, i can only go a few hours before it starts to come off however it doesn't smudge under my eyes so its not a major issue, it also isn't waterproof so i wouldn't expect it to last all day. I have worn this everyday since i bought it and i don't think i will use another colour for a long time.

NYX butter gloss in Cherry pie

This weeks favourite 2

This weeks favourite is the NYX butter gloss in cherry pie, i recently purchased this and I'm very impressed with it. I really like red lipsticks but for casually going out it can be a bit too intense and this lipgloss allows me to go out with a red lip without it being too over powering. I like the formula of this product because its glossy and feels very moisturising on my lips. I have to say the product is quite sticky but most lip glosses are so i don't mind so much especially considering the price. They are £5 and I think thats extremely reasonable for the standard of lipgloss. I got mine whilst on holiday in dubai but these can be ordered on the internet, which is wear i purchased my other lip butters. The packaging is small which i think is good for throwing into a bag and travelling. The colour pay off is perfect for what i was looking for and its staying power is ok. I would say if you were wearing this out you would need to take it with you for top ups. As a bonus they also smell really nice which makes the product even better because i can't stand lip products that smell awful haha.Overall this product is worth every penny if not more, i will definitely be purchasing more of these lip glosses. In the picture below i applied a thin layer to my lips to give a slight pop of colour but it can definitely be built up a bit more.

I purchased my previous ones from here: NYX cosmetics UK

Benefit They're real Mascara

This weeks favourite 1

I have decided to start writing a small blogpost every week as well as one main one at the end of the week on one product that i have been using the most that week or something new that has become a favourite of mine.

This week i have been really enjoying the Benefit they're real mascara. I know this product has been around for a long time but i have only recently started to really love this product. I had tried a tester of this mascara a while ago and liked it but i was really skeptical about purchasing the full product because of the price. It retails for £19.50 which for me was very expensive compared to any good drugstore mascaras i had every used before but after reading a few reviews myself i then decided to give it a try and i wasn't disappointed.

I am on holiday and its been extremely hot so i haven't been wearing much makeup but I always like to wear mascara to make me look a bit more awake and this product has done exactly that. It gives my lashes amazing length and volume but doesn't make them look clumpy at all. It has a very unusual brush with tiny bristles on the tip of the wand which makes it easy to get to the inner corner lashes and helps to separate any clumps, it also makes it possible to get those small stubborn lashes. I think that is a really good feature to the mascara and makes it stand out above other mascaras i have used. This mascara gives my lashes amazing curl and i never have to curl them before applying, the curl stays all day and although the mascara isn't said to be waterproof it has amazing staying power. I can wear it all day and not have one smudge of mascara under my eye, and thats great for someone with really watery eyes. To get the best effect for my lashes i blink onto the wand and wiggle the brush side to side, this picks up and covers every lash plus gives the best results.  I have noticed that it dries up quicker than some of my other mascaras but that may be because I'm using it more so overall i think this product is really good. The picture below shows the stages of my mascara. In the first picture i did curl my eyelashes just slightly to show what it would look like, but honestly as i said before i don't normally curl them as with this i get the same results. I Purchased mine at boots and i will leave a link here: benefit they're real mascara.
